Dr. Amanda Speicher is a general adult psychiatrist with over two decades of experience. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Dartmouth College, earned her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, and completed her psychiatry residency at Brown University.

Dr. Speicher provides comprehensive psychiatric care with a focus on mood and affective disorders, anxiety and trauma-related conditions, schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorders, and substance use disorders. She also welcomes patients across a wide range of life stages and experiences, including individuals who are pregnant or postpartum, geriatric patients, and those with developmental disabilities.  For individuals seeking ADHD care, she typically recommends formal testing before starting stimulant medication.

Her clinical approach is collaborative and evidence-based, centered on shared decision-making and long-term well-being. She integrates medication management with an understanding of psychological, social, and lifestyle factors, offering care that supports both symptom relief and sustained personal growth.

Dr. Speicher sees the therapeutic relationship as a partnership and encourages patients to be actively involved in shaping their treatment goals and decisions. She strives to create a safe environment where patients feel heard and empowered to explore both their challenges and strengths, while also holding patients accountable to the work they do together. While she does not require patients to be in therapy in order to receive medication services, she strongly encourages it as a vital complement to treatment.

What Dr. Speicher finds most rewarding is the opportunity to support people through some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives. She is deeply committed to being a consistent, trusted presence for patients who may feel overwhelmed or unsure of where to turn. For her, helping patients see their mental health as equally important to their overall well-being—and witnessing the growth that follows—is one of the most gratifying aspects of her work.
