Provides sessions with Angel, a trained therapy dog
Edwin Taetsch is a licensed clinical social worker and family therapist with more than four decades of experience helping individuals and families navigate emotional and relational challenges. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Syracuse University, where he also completed a certificate in Family Therapy.
Edwin’s approach is grounded in client-centered therapy, with a strong foundation in family systems, trauma-focused treatment, and EMDR. He also incorporates substance abuse counseling and is trained in Gottman Therapy and domestic mediation. His work focuses on building trust, encouraging personal growth, and supporting healing through a strong therapeutic alliance.
He believes that the foundation of successful clinical work lies in the therapeutic relationship, and he strives to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and empowered. One of the most rewarding aspects of his work is witnessing the transformation that occurs when people begin to change and regain control of their lives.
In his sessions, Edwin is often joined by Angel, a certified therapy dog and three-year-old yellow Labrador retriever, who brings calm and connection to the therapeutic space.
