Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Michael Tirinzoni is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who provides comprehensive mental health care for children ages 6 and older, adolescents, and adults. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Saint Joseph, his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Connecticut, and his Bachelor of Health Science from Springfield College.

Michael has worked in mental health since 2017 across inpatient psychiatric and substance use treatment settings. His experience includes serving as a psychiatric technician at Middlesex Hospital, an adolescent psychiatric nurse at Yale New Haven Health, and a psychiatric nurse at Silver Hill Hospital, where he worked with adolescents and individuals experiencing substance use disorders.

His clinical practice includes medication management, Spravato treatment, and Suboxone treatment. Michael believes in understanding each patient as a whole person and takes a holistic approach to care that considers emotional, behavioral, and lifestyle factors. He works collaboratively with patients to create individualized treatment plans that support long term wellness and improved quality of life.

Michael’s approach is rooted in compassion, empathy, and strong therapeutic relationships. He is committed to helping patients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys following UConn athletics, golfing, watching sports, and hiking with his dog.
